Lydia's Gluten Free Banana Bread
Dry ingredients:
1 Cup quinoa flour or Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free All Purpose Flour
1 Cup almond meal
2 tsp gluten free baking powder (Rumford)
1 tsp cinnamon
A pinch of nutmeg
¾ cup sugar or ½ cup maple syrup
¼ to ½ tsp salt (Real Salt)
½ cup chopped walnuts
Wet ingredients:
3 eggs
3 very ripe bananas
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp natural almond flavor
½ to 3/4 cup apple sauce
Preheat oven to 325F.  Butter one or two bread pans, sprinkle almond meal on the buttered pans to make it easier to remove the bread.
Stir Dry ingredients together.  Blend wet ingredients and add to dry ingredients combining the two without over mixing.
Pour into bread pan(s) and bake for approximately one hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
This bread is edible right away.  It will become firmer after cooling.  It is delicious warm. I had it for breakfast this morning and it was even better than last night. Enjoy!
Serra Peptase For over a quarter of a Century, the clinical use of Serrapeptase or Serra Enzyme as an anti-inflammatory has been widespread throughout Europe and Asia. Dead and inflamed tissue are two of the key causes of the majority of ailments in the body. Serrapeptase digests (dissolves) non-living tissue, blood clots, cysts, and arterial plaque and all inflamed tissue which is then dispersed.

This now plant grown enzyme was originally noticed over 30 years ago being used by the silkworm in its cocoon to dissolve proteins. It is an enzyme that naturally eases minor pain and inflammation from overexertion or everyday activities by breaking down extraneous fibrin, mucus and other compounds that congregate when the body's natural repair functions are working. Serrapeptase promotes cardiovascular and arterial health, and it supports the body's natural processes for both drainage and repair.
There is a growing list list of conditions that respond to Serrapeptase simply taken orally in tablet or capsule form. And what is more, in over 25 years of studies and usage no harmful side effects have been found.

Pain of any kind from: arthritis, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, headaches and migraines caused by inflammation.
Lung Problems: emphysema, bronchitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis
Eye Problems:inflammation, blocked veins etc
ENT problems:sinusitis problems, chronic ear infections,
runny nose etc
Trauma:sports injuries, traumatic swelling, post operative, leg ulcers that are not healing
Inflammation of any kind eg: inflammatory bowel (Crohn's, Colitis etc.) cystitis - joints or muscles,  fibromyalgia, breast Engmuscles, fibrocystic breasts, varicose veins etc., and cardiovascular disease

Serra Enzyme tablets and capsules are most effective when enteric coated to be taken on an empty stomach to ensure that they are activated in the small intestine, rather than in the stomach.

Questions about Serra Enzyme? We are happy to talk to you and give you our personal and patient's testimonials and experiences!

July 2009

Dear Patients, Family and Friends~

Summer arrived and we have continued to keep the wheels turning; the ones on our boat trailer, that is! Our last trip up north to Story, Wyoming was beautiful, restful and fun. Here is the link to our pictures Travels of Sid and Amber

In other news: I try to be conscious about my personal 'carbon footprint' as much as possible. So, when I was about to cut open a juicy looking red pepper for dinner, I was shocked to see a little sticker on it that said 'Product of Holland' Holy cow! This from our local Vitamin Cottage! And no, I didn't notice it in the store, or it would still be sitting there. Aren't there peppers growing locally this time of year? Yes, I could go the a Farmer's Market, but that would mean another drive to town...more carbon, so I try to shop when I'm already there. So, I called the grocery manager a VC; she was lovely and sympathetic, but the bottom line is that people demand produce out of season so its imported from all over. (note: last January I saw asparagus in Whole Foods imported from PERU). What to do? I'll read the labels more closely, boycott the imports and keep talking to the people in charge. Isn't that how the whole and organic foods movement started?

Meanwhile, we hope every day is filled with the best of all things; remember to create what you desire, and to pass the good stuff around!

Blessings~*~*~ Amber & Sid
BRUSH, FLOSS, RINSE, & NEEM
Did you know that good oral health reduces degenerative diseases? Most of us know that poor oral hygiene leads to tooth decay and gum inflammation, but it can also drastically elevate the risk of inflammation driven diseases such as arteriosclerosis and diabetes.
You know that 'plaque build-up' in the arteries that we hear about? Well, recent studies are indicating that this plaque can start in the mouth, increasing the risk of arteriosclerosis, heart attack and stoke. There is also strong evidence that gum disease can also increase the risk of pre-term births and low birth weight.
Gratefully, thanks to a wonderful plant native to India, what we put in our mouth can contribute to our over-all health...that little miracle plant is NEEM. Researchers already knew that the leaves, twigs and seeds of neem trees have powerful antimicrobial and antifungal properties. So they set out to test just how efficient neem really was in treating gum disease. The study, involving 3 groups of people, used a neem mouth gel made from dried neem leaves. A 25% alcoholic extract was prepared from the leaves, and then turned into a gel.The study lasted 6 weeks and the outcome was clear: after three weeks the users of neem gel showed the lowest dental plaque levels. They also had the lowest levels of harmful bacteria that are associated with the formation of dental plaque and tartar.
In another clinical study 50 patients with advanced gingivitis were treated; 40 of them suffered from bleeding gums and pustular discharges from the gum. The patients were instructed to brush their teeth twice daily with neem toothpaste. (The toothpaste contained neem leaf extract.)
After only three weeks 80% of them showed significant improvements. All patients had lower levels of bacteria, and bad breath had disappeared. There were no side effects. Another study in Germany used 70 patients with periodontitis in different stages. The study reports similar results (stop of bleeding and discharge, gums return to healthy color) after only five to ten treatments with neem toothpaste and mouthwash.

There is no known cure for gum disease. A number of small studies, anecdotal evidence, and thousands of years of traditional use, all agree that neem may:prevent and heal gum disease, prevent cavities, eliminate bacteria that cause cavities and inflammation of the gums, prevent bacteria from adhering to your teeth (reduce plaque), enhance mouth immunity in general, and through all this freshen the breath.
Nice stuff, this NEEM. For more info go to a very informative site check out:Discover Neem

Dear Patients, Family and Friends~
Daylight Savings always flip-flops me...just as I was loving sunrise at 6 am, its dark until sunrise at 7 am! But the warm days are wonderful, aren't they?

We've just finalized a trip to South American and are so excited. We are blessed to have an amazing team of producers and friends there who take such good care of us and help us do our healing work and workshops on the other side of the world.
This trip we will be in Argentina and Chile and have promised ourselves time to really see some sights. Sid's been going around the house singing "Don't cry for me Argentina" the past few days; and yes, he does sound like Madonna!

We've adjusted our schedules here to fit as many treatment hours as we can, and fun things like Laughter Yoga and Yoga and classes, before we leave and after
we return. Its early Fall on the other side of the equator and beautiful, like a warm September here. We look forward to collecting pictures and stories to share.

Blessings, prosperity and love ~ Sid and Amber Wolf

ThjThe Good News iss...Good News is...
"There are two ways of spreading light - to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." - Edith Wharton
This inspiring quote is from the pages of the Good News Network, my favorite source for the good news out there, literally. Its not just an airy-fairy granola sheet; stories might be from NPR and Reuters (UK). There is actual news as well as human interest. One great example in today's pages is a story about Honda having to triple the production of INSIGHT, its Hybrid car; now that's good news to me! (of course I already drive a Honda ..smile..)My exploration of pages there always leaves me feeling better about the state of the world and 'my people'  who are the optimists, and creative problem solvers!

Most of the time it is difficult to put our own needs first, however it is necessary for our sense of well-being and happiness. When we have so many things that we are involved in, we are unable to focus on one thing, our lives become scattered, disorganized, and even fragmented.
Even though learning to put ourselves first is difficult, in doing so we will be able to establish healthy boundaries for our lives and place our focus on what is most important for our own growth. If you are a 'caretaker'  by committing to yourself today, you will discover what is essential for you to take care of others is to start by taking care of you. Nobody will do it but you (in case you haven't noticed) and there's no time like NOW to start!
I began my program of regular self care with the mantra 'just do one thing today for me' and it worked and has become a habit. Since I'm a morning person, that's when I started my new regime. Sometimes its still dark out, but by the time I'm through and there's a beautiful sunrise happening, I FEEL SO GOOD and I'm excited about the day ahead of me.
Since January I've added the ' Five Tibetans' to my morning exercises and wow, have I ever seen a difference in my 1. all over muscle strength, 2. my balance is better, 3. I'm even sleeping better (and it was good before, 4. I break a sweat every time, 5. they're quick! ( less than 20 minutes).
If you'd like to know more about the Five Tibetan Energy Exercises for Rejuvenation and Healing, visit this page on our website : Five Tibetan Exercises
I'll be teaching the Five Tibetans at Solar Yoga in Prospect, date to follow. Enjoy!

sparkleangel Dear Patients, Family and Friends~

I can't help it; I'm inspired! Tuesday's Presidential Inauguration keep me glued to the TV and in a place of awe.  I don't know if I've ever watched one before, but I couldn't help feeling the energy of the 2 million people there. There was so much hope that I am again amazed at the resilience of the people of this country; I felt that way after 911. I pray we are a good example of healing our nation for the rest of the world, and that the healing continues through the days and years ahead.

Again in the spirit of inspiration, I'm sending along this beautiful link from Connie Okelberry: Be Inspired
